Feed and grazing needed for flood affected farmers

27 July 2021

To all Members

With the flooding across the South Island and the prolonged dry conditions prior to this, we are needing feed and grazing for those impacted by the weather events of 2021. The Feed Coordination Service runs a willing buyer, willing seller service and will help connect you with a farmer who needs feed.

We have been able to support 146 farmers since March 2020 through the Feed Coordination Service and a large majority of this support has come directly from Feds Members. 182 farmers had feed, pasture or crops damaged in the May floods just in Canterbury and we know they will be feeling the pinch on this soon.
  • If you have feed for sale or donation, please click here.
  • If you have grazing available or donation, please click here. We have a huge number of hoggets that need grazing but other types of grazing are also useful.
Have you been impacted by the weather event and you need help finding feed?

If you need feed click here or grazing click here and a Feed Coordinator will be in touch to match you with someone. You can also call the Feed Coordination Service to talk to the team by calling 0800FARMING. If you are concerned about affording feed, please contact the Rural Support Trust so they are aware of your situation and either 0800 4 DAIRY or 0800 BEEFLAMB to assist you with feed planning.
