Feds - Always in Your Corner
Federated Farmers exists to help and support our members build better businesses in a competitive world.
We get our members a better deal for their businesses by representing their needs at local and national levels. We are a voluntary, member funded, not-for-profit organisation.
Support from the Feds Community
Being a member means being part of a community that’s been at the heart of farming for nearly 120 years. We have 24 provincial organisations and six industry groups working at national and provincial level to bring farmers together and provide people for you to turn to and learn from.
We also provide farmers with practical information and updates, and are there to support you when times are tough with our widely respected adverse events network.
A Powerful Voice
Feds employs the largest policy team outside of government, including 30 policy staff spread throughout the country. Their work includes fighting to lower rates, reduce compliance costs and stop regulations which create extra costs and unfair outcomes for farmer businesses.
It’s our job to look into the future and see what’s coming for farming. And then make sure the right people are aware of the impact their decisions will have. No other organisation does this.
Free Advice
Via our 0800 free call service members can receive advice on a wide range of industry related topics including animal welfare, accommodation support, employment law, health and safety requirements, land access, legal issues, rates, regional resource management, sharemilking and immigration.
Regular Communications
Feds produces its own newspaper, email newsletter, various industry group e-newsletters, provincial newsletters and a very busy Facebook page. The Feds website is updated every day with provincial and national information including events notices, submissions and media statements.
