This report summarises the results of the January 2018 Federated Farmers’ Mid-Season Farm Confidence survey. The survey is undertaken twice a year (in January and July); this study is the 18th iteration. The survey was completed for Federated Farmers by Research First, New Zealand’s leading agricultural market research company.
Biggest concerns for farmers remains regulation and compliance costs (21.1% picking it as their greatest concern), followed by the weather (12.0%), and farmgate & commodity prices (9.3%).
Highest priorities for government is biosecurity (21.3% picking it as their highest priority for the government), followed by economy & business environment (16.1%), and regulation & compliance costs (11.7%).
