Federated Farmers Submission on Greater Wellington Regional Council's proposed Natural Resources Plan
This long-running regional plan process has finally reached a milestone.
Federated Farmers will be filing an appeal to the Environment Court (due September 18th 2019) on several aspects of the proposed plan that could drastically limit farming activities with the potential for many farms in the region to incur huge compliance expenses. A copy of the appeal will be posted here after it is filed with the Court.
Environment Court appeals are expensive and time-consuming – our policy advisors and in house lawyers commit enormous amounts of their time in preparing and running a comprehensive case, but we also have to engage essential relevant external experts. Therefore, we’re seeking financial contributions from all farmers in the region towards the costs of this case. You can pledge your contribution by:
- Calling our friendly team on 0800 327 646
- By direct credit here: 03-0306-0626460-000. Reference GWRC PRP19.
- Or send a cheque to Federated Farmers of New Zealand.
Find out how the proposed rules could affect your farm, what you can do and what we’re doing at Feds by calling the Wairarapa Executive president - William Beetham or Feds Senior Policy Advisor, Liz McGruddy.
