Federated Farmers Submission on PC114 Whangarei District Plan - ONFLs
Federated Farmers recognises that the RMA directs councils to protect outstanding natural features and landscapes, however this must be done in a way that recognises and provides for farming to continue. The majority of our members are proud of their land and view themselves as stewards for the next generation. The ONLs, ONFs and indigenous vegetation that we see on the landscape today are a result of this stewardship ethic, and previous generations valuing the inherent properties of these resources and seeking to retain and even protect them. Rules for activities on ONFLs must ensure that normal farming activities can occur.
