Federated Farmers recommends a rates postponement policy for farms that have experienced an increase in value disproportionate to other comparable properties as a result of coastal or potential subdivision factors. And supports retaining user-pays parking in the Hastings City Centre.
Rates Remissions
Federated Farmers commends the Hastings District Council’s range of rates remissions. The Natural Calamities remission will be especially necessary this year to those ratepayers affected by wild fires in February.
The Council acknowledges that revaluation will have an impact on rates this year, and Federated Farmers would like to highlight a particular issue that revaluations has arisen in Hastings.
