Federated Farmers Submission for Queenstown Lakes District Council Draft Waste Management and Minimisation Plan
Federated Farmers supports the proposed Waste Management and Minimisation Plan. But we ask Council to develop an Agrecovery site in the Queenstown Lakes District, ideally incorporated into existing Council (including Otago Regional Council) owned or managed waste sites that are accessible to the farming community, to be funded through the General Rate. We also support the proposed approach to funding the Waste Management and Minimisation Plan, provided there are no significant changes to Council’s General and Targeted Rates funding policies.
