Little footsteps support Hawke’s Bay Farmers
Released 23 Jun 2011
Federated Farmers is thanking the Napier preschool children who recently donned gumboots and spent a day learning about farming as a way of showing their support for flood hit farmers in Hawke's Bay.
"he youngsters at Footsteps Preschool in Gladstone, Napier, have seen the plight of farmers on television and obviously wanted to show their solidarity," says Federated Farmers Hawkes Bay president Bruce Wills.
"In supporting local farmers, they have also learnt a lot about some of the messy parts of farming like clay, slime and mud. The children also put together a card for those farmers affected by the April storm and flooding to let them know they care.
"Federated Farmers was touched by their goodwill and prayers. We hope some of these young children may one day grow up to have a rewarding career in agriculture.
"We hope the Footsteps Preschool children and staff know how much we appreciated their support," Mr Wills concluded.
