Farm Day a great success

Federated Farmers wish to thank the New Zealand public for getting behind their annual Farm Day.
"We had an absolutely amazing turn out today and I'm pretty sure numbers are well up from last year," says Federated Farmers President, Don Nicolson.
"Farmers have been getting a bit of slack about their environmental practices recently. It's great that the public is making an effort to see for themselves what we, as farmers, are doing to keep farming practices green.
"A massive 1500 people flocked to the North Otago Farm Day alone, to get an idea of what it takes to run a working New Zealand farm.
"It takes a lot of organisation to get 23 farms to open up for the public, so it's very impressive it all ran smoothly. Even the weather cooperated in most provinces.
"I'd like to extend a huge thank you to all the host farms, Federated Farmers volunteers and everyone else that helped out.
"All the farmers went out of their way to ensure every visitor had a great time and they definitely succeeded in that.
"It really was a fantastic day and I'm looking forward to next year's Federated Farmers Farm Day," Mr Nicolson concluded.
