Federated Farmers High Country is an industry group within the Federation's structure.
Issues relevant to the high country are many and varied. The guidance of the nine-person management committee extends beyond general policy and advocacy, as well as highlighting the high country perspective in these roles.
Federated Farmers High Country represents the interests of New Zealand's high country farmers through the High Country industry group council.

Key challenges and campaigns
In recent times Federated Farmers High Country has been strategically involved in:
- Crown Pastoral Lands Act
- RHD (rabbit haemorrhagic disease)
- Wilding Tree control
- Pastoral Lease rent renewals
- Tenure Review
- Valuation methodology for both Rentals and Tenure Review
- Tahr and Canada Goose Control Plans
- Regional and District Plans
- High Country Accord Trust
Federated Farmers High Country has been instrumental in many positive initiatives:
- "A High Country Recreational Users Code". Produced in May 1991 and endorsed by the likes of Federated Mountain Clubs, NZ Fish & Game Council, and the Royal Forest & Bird Protection Society.
- Published "Spirit of the High Country" and "Tussock Grasslands, Our Heritage".
- Organised a series of seminars on Tenure Review processes and valuations for rental.
News and events
High Country field day 2010 - The 2010 High Country field day will be on Wednesday, 10 March. The field day will feature a 4WD journey through the Nevis, meeting at Ben Nevis woolshed and finishing at Garston.
