Campaign T150 - The T150 campaign sets a goal of $150 a lamb for the sheep-meat and wool industries to work towards over the next five years.
While there have been different proposals and discussions on ownership and structure in the meat processing sector of late, there is no clear focus on what the industry should be aiming for over the next five years. The T150 campaign will provide that.
Meat & Fibre leaders know that $150 will not be an easy target to meet but Federated Farmers believes T150 is tangible, inspirational but above all, achievable. Read more »
News and Events
Judgement reached in wool scouring case - The High Court has dismissed the appeal, by Godfrey Hirst NZ Ltd, against the Commerce Commission's authorisation of Cavalier Wool Holdings Ltd.'s (CWH) proposal to acquire the wool scouring assets of NZ Wool Services International Ltd (WSI).
The Commerce Commission had found, while the CWH proposal would have substantially lessened competition for wool scouring services (if successful in its bid for WSI, CWH would own all the scouring plants in both the North and South Islands), that the public benefits were likely to significantly outweigh the public detriments and so it authorised the acquisition.
The High Court, while finding the gap between the estimated detriments and benefits to be narrower than that found by the Commerce Commission, still determined that the benefits of the CWH proposal outweighed the potential harm.

All members are welcome to attend these gatherings to socialise, to meet with other farmers and share thoughts about the issues that meat and fibre farmers face.
