Federated Farmers is launching its Manifesto at Wellington Railway Station to communicate farming's importance to all New Zealanders.
Agriculture is a mainstay of New Zealand's economy, earning a significant proportion of the country's export earnings over the last year. Federated Farmers' Manifesto outlines policy positions farmers need to ensure New Zealand remains a first world nation.
There are many important issues addressed in the Manifesto including water storage and infrastructure investment, supporting a better funded research and science sector to support technological advancement, particularly in agriculture and strengthening our country's biosecurity protection and responses.
The Federation also calls for the post-election government to strengthen the New Zealand economy and provide a better trading environment for exporters.
The Manifesto will be launched by Federated Farmers president Bruce Wills between 8am and 8.40am.
