What can you do to reach T150?

Federated Farmers of New Zealand wants all those involved in the lamb supply chain to lift their sights to help achieve the T150 goal. Anyone involved from the paddock to the plate, from farmer members to processors, researchers, marketers, transporters and supermarkets should be thinking T150. Should endosulfan be banned?

Endosulfan is the product which has been found in New Zealand beef exports to Korea, resulting in suspension in our exports thereby costing the economy millions of dollars. The Federation would like your views on whether we should advocate for a ban on this product. Read more »
Compulsory third party insurance?

A compulsory third party vehicle insurance scheme is being considered by the Ministry of Transport. The Federation has concerns that making insurance compulsory will add compliance costs for those who chose to self-insure, particularly the owners of farm vehicles which are used on the road infrequently. Debating control in the meat industry

For some time now much of the debate in the meat industry has been about farmers "taking back control". Many have promoted a Fonterra like structure. Now along comes Craig Norgate and PGG Wrightson picking up 50 percent of a long time controlled farmer owned company at possibly the bottom of the market. Read more »
