Dams
Many of our members have dams on their farms. The Building Act imposes regulations on anyone who owns a dam.
Federated Famers opposes requirements that are unnecessary and is working to minimise compliance costs to dam owners.
Already the Federation has saved small dam owners money by reducing their requirements under the dam safety scheme.
Building Code
Some farm buildings have to meet requirements of the new Building Code. The Department of Building and Housing is reviewing this code.
The Federation has made a submission on the implications that changes to the Building Code will have on farm buildings.
