New Field Officer hits the road in Taranaki

Federated Farmers has appointed Angela Hogg as the new Federated Farmers Field Officer for the South-West of the North Island, covering the region from South Taranaki to Horowhenua.
"While we influence decision making both internationally and domestically, it's our grass roots connections that are vital to the success of agriculture and New Zealand," says Conor English, Federated Farmers Chief Executive.
Angela, who has previously worked for Beef + Lamb NZ (formerly Meat & Wool) and Central District Field Days, really enjoys working in the agricultural industry.
"Visiting farmers on-farm to let them know what the Federation is up to, is a very important part of what this role is all about and luckily I really enjoy it," says Angela Hogg, Federated Farmers Field Officer.
"Although I do frequently visit members, my main focus on the job is to let non-members know why it's so important that they join up.
"Federated Farmers local, national and sectoral lobbying is of benefit for all New Zealand farmers, but we need to have members to survive. Without its members, the Federation is nothing.
"That's why I'm so excited about this role, it's my job to ensure our members are well looked after and to ensure membership in my region continues to grow.
"I thrive on meeting people, so this is the perfect job, I get to meet people on the ground and show them firsthand how much the Federation really matters. I really like interacting with farmers, there's something refreshing about them, they're very down to earth," Ms Hogg concluded.
Angela grew up on a rural property in the Kapiti Coast and has a lot of friends in the agricultural sector. In her free time she enjoys walking, gardening and the occasional bungee jump.
