Farm Day 2009
The farmers who opened their gates up to the public with the goal of reconnecting our urban and rural communities are congratulated for the work they put in to organising the day. As are the dozens of volunteers who gave their time up to show guests around each of the 25 diverse farms that hosted a Federated Farmers Farm Day. Click here to see the photos >>
Manifesto Launch
The Federation's Manifesto 2008 is its blueprint to enable farmers, businesses and the economy to hit its full potential. All New Zealanders, city and rural, have to work together if New Zealand is to make progress as a nation and remain a first world country. Check out the action of the Manifesto's launch at Wellington Railway Station the week before the general election.
T150 Campaign Launch
The Federated Farmers T150 campaign sets a goal of $150 a lamb for the sheep-meat and wool industries to work towards over the next five years. Have a look at the photos from the T150 launch that took place on the 29th of September in the sunny Hawke's Bay.
A day in the life...
A sneak peek into the lives of some of the vital people that keep the farming community running. Come and have a look at what some of the Federation's people do during a week. Look at more photos.
Provincial Events
Provinces often hold local events to highlight an issue or to inform members or the public about an issue. These events are good opportunities to build and support membership as well as being a fun way to meet neighbouring provinces. Look at more photos.
Field Days
The Federation attends six field days a year across the country. We start the field day season in November, with a stand at the Christchurch Show. Early in the New Year we go to Dargaville to the Far North Field Days, and then in March the South Island field days which alternate between Waimumu and Lincoln, and the Central North Island field days at Feilding. Our final event of the year is the national field days at Mystery Creek near Hamilton in June. Look at more photos.
Past Campaigns
Occasionally, when all else fails and the government can not be persuaded to change its mind, the Federation leaps into action with a national political campaign. Our aim for large scale campaigns is for them to be big and bold and have the capacity to surprise and delight our members as well as urban friends. As national campaigns are high risk and run the danger of damaging our relationships with others, we only use them as a last resort. Look at more photos.
Backing T150
Since the launch of T150 on September 29 2008 many people have shown their support of this campaign. Have a look at them here.
