South Canterbury
Introduction
Federated Farmers South Canterbury represents local farmers' views at three district councils and one regional council. The main issues in our province are the Resource Management Act and how it is being interpreted, the lack of profi tability of sheep farming, water availability and the surge in compliance costs.
Meetings
Lower Waitaki South Coastal Canterbury Water Management Zone Committee - The Lower Waitaki South Coastal Canterbury Water Management Zone Committee's monthly meeting is being held on Thursday 15 September, 2011.
Nicola Wilson a Hydrogeologist from Environment Canterbury will speak about water balance, providing a briefing on the provinces groundwater.
The Extension Services Manager at Environment Canterbury, Judith Earl-Goulet, will talk about audited self management, while Diana Roberston, an Ecologist at Boffa Miskell, will discuss the regions wetlands.

H20 Water management in Canterbury
