The team at What Now are offering a swag of prizes - including a family holiday - to Farmy Army volunteers who helped out since the Christchurch earthquake on 22 February.
Usually the What Now SLAM event is aimed at kids, but this year they are inviting the heroes of the Christchurch quake to take part on Thursday 19 May at the Halswell Quarry in Christchurch.
Right now, the What Now team is looking for a Farmy Army family to take part in an opportunity to have a positive distraction, a lot of fun and the chance to be swept away on a family holiday.
SLAM is described as a family-friendly obstacle course, not unlike the TV Show ‘Wipe Out' (or the outdoors section of Krypton Factor) and will be lots of fun for the families involved.
"It is our little way of saying thanks, but also a chance to publicly acknowledge those Mums, Dads, Uncles, Aunts, Grandmas or Grandads who have been an unbreakable force in our city," Whitebait Television researcher Rebecca Browning says.
The people who work at What Now consider themselves relatively lucky, with no casualties, but like everyone in Christchurch, they are dealing with loss and displacement.
If you know the right family, please get in touch with Allan Swann, Federated Farmers Communications Advisor on 04 470 2162 by Wednesday 6 April.
