Stats NZ report on Employment in Non-Dairy Pasture and Forestry in Wairoa and Gisborne
This report was undertaken by StatsNZ after being commissioned by Dave Reed, a Federated Farmers member from Wairoa. The report demonstrates that forestry takes employment away from small areas such as Wairoa. While non-dairy pasture has shown an increase in employment per 1000ha since 2002, forestry has shown a decrease.
