Submission on: Amendments to the Local Government Act 2022 under the Severe Weather Emergency Recovery Legislation Act 2023
Federated Farmers of New Zealand welcomes the opportunity to submit on the DIA’s amendments to the Local Government Act 2002 through Order and Council under the Severe Weather Emergency Recovery Legislation Act 2023.
Many farmers and people living in rural communities have been heavily impacted by the effects of Cyclones Hale and Gabrielle and heavy rain events earlier this year. We acknowledge the hardships these communities are experiencing because of recent severe weather events and are acutely aware of the significant ongoing impacts and disruption to the affected regions.
