We opposed the WDC's plan to reduce the Uniform Annual General Charge, a fixed charge that all ratepayers pay - keeping that high is actually good for farmers who otherwise end up paying more overall via their general rates. We thanked Council for reducing average rates increases from those originally proposed but were disappointed to see that most farms will face higher rates increases than other ratepayers.
